Introducing....
Meet our Inaugural Fellowship Class
As a multidisciplinary artist, I experiment with technology to explore themes that surround being a Black woman in contemporary society. I am particularly interested in portraying narratives that depict lived experience, as well as representation of my culture. I first minted in February and because of NFTs, I’ve been able to create new friendships and join communities that align with my values, such as the African NFT Community and HerstoryDAO. I have spoken on panels at NFT NYC and Zoratopia (during Art Basel) about the barriers of entry that artists in Africa face when entering the metaverse.

Hi FWB! My name is Alex but you can call me Alex. I’m an artist and music producer. I had the honor of being part of SONGCAMP Elektra! That community has been my intro into web3. In addition to contributing to the Elektra DAO, I’ve been making my own music from a place of instinct and confession. This way of being helps me remember why I started making music in the first place. In February, I’m also looking forward to joining KERNEL05. Excited to share what I’ve been working on and meet everyone!

Thanasi is also on the founding team of Aera Force, a 2000ETH venture fund dedicated to accelerating a sustainable future. He takes bribes in redbull and will never move from Queens, NYC.

Hi Future Friends! I wanted to share some of my talents with you all. I’m a maker of many things: apparel, footwear, fine arts, experiences, interior and textile design, etc. I want to help make FWB an Atelier. I attached a WIP of my latest piece inspired by Nyx, goddess of the night. I love astronomy and mythology and I use black women as subjects for my pieces. I also added a recent photo of me after my Nike x Serena Williams collection dropped. Find me on Twitter @thenamesbria_ if you want to learn more!

The path to our Utopian future requires new social narratives, with raw af authenticity as the backbone of stories told. Our Art matters!! And the blockchain matters for artists ~~ just some thoughts. I'm Clear. I'm a 28y/o trans/non-binary singer and optimist ;; and it would be an honour to co-create the next frontier of culture w yall. (photo from a facetime w Raven...I was telling her about the NFT album I'd just finished visioning for 2022. Beaming.) What does it look like when fear is de-prioritized, and charting fresh terrain becomes the new cultural standard? Shall we find out?

I’m a self-taught multidisciplinary creative based in Nairobi, Kenya (East Africa). My design work is forward-thinking and introspective and often seeks to break old stereotypical narratives of my home continent and tell new African stories. I’m also an online educator teaching students around the world about graphic design and animation through my Skillshare classes. Previously, I co-founded the now defunct AfricanStockPhoto.com - a platform that sought to connect talented African photographers on the continent to buyers across the world. The platform had close to 300 contributing photographers and over 8000 unique images by the time it shut down last year.

Hello FWB ✊🏽 En here (know as Cult Leader En on twitter, pronouns: they/them) and I am jazzed to be a fellowship finalist. I am a community leader at Web3 Baddies with Clare and advocate for Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) within web3! I recently quit my job in chemistry to pursue web3 full time, so this fellowship would be a great way to enter the space. With the power of art and culture, I believe that blockchain technology can change the world by shifting humanity to a mindset of abundance and equity.

Hi FWB community! I’m a Brooklyn based creator primarily focused on music production and performance. That said I have a deep passion for creating strong visual elements to coincide with my musical releases. I’d consider my songs “R&B-adjacent,” but I’m always looking to expand my sonic landscape as I continue to collaborate with my live band and other producers. Excited to be a part of this space!

Hi! My name is Jah. and I consider myself a multimedia storyteller. I use Filmmaking, 3D & 2D animation to covey my experiences in a creative way.

My journey as a professional musician became real through the relationships I built via Myspace. Web2 taught me that social connectivity can profoundly change the trajectory of everyone's lives involved. Web3 will undoubtedly replicate this experience exponentially. I’ve adopted web3 as a practice, learning it’s tools with intent to onboard my network of exceptional artists and creative thinkers who will thrive and even aid in the expansion of FWB into local charters. I’ve always strived to create with effortless intent, lead by example, and shift culture through shared experiences. FWB excels at this, so I know we’re a great fit.

I am a poet, writer, researcher, and internet explorer! This is to say, I co-founded and admin subtle asian dating, the world's second largest group for the Asian diaspora, and am an ordained minister, slated to officiate the wedding of a couple who met through the group in Texas, 2022! Over the last two years, amid the flurry of video calls, internet friendships, digital selfhood-performing, a lot of my personal interests and professional work centers around care and maintenance work, digitally diasporic methods of cultural disarrangement, SEO divination, and the ways we find one another on and offline. You can find me in the crowd of an upcoming show or at www.jyz.digital / www.twitter.com/fieldednotes!

I'm a DJ and creative/cultural producer in Toronto working at the intersection of music and community. I have a media background and have worked with many big publications/brands but founding a community radio station (IG @iso.radio) is the project I'm most proud of so far. I owe so much to the Internet—it got me out of my home town, gave me a career and helped me find my creativity. I'm keen to learn more about Web3, how I can contribute in a meaningful way and empower those around me. Thankful to be considered for this opportunity <3

Hi there, My name is Lien (Leviathe) and I am a queer Viet person living in San Francisco working in the music and science industry. I also am a really into extreme sports! Anyways I am working as an in-house engineer and manager at Different Fur Studios and Co-own a post production audio company called Liema. I am also working to reverse climate change through carbon capture with a group that is called Collective Carbon (fka flue carbon). I really believe in bridging music, technology, and science and am trying to find the best ways to do that. I research a lot of sympathetic resonance as a way to bridge this gap. Lastly, on my own I just make experimental electronic music under my name Leviathe. I really want to be involved in communities that are also involved in bridging different facets of creativity in a collaborative way. I do feel like as our technology grows, we need to make sure it remains equal, collaborative, and towards the path of shared growth.

I'm a Designer / Artist / Web3 + NFT Educator who worked mostly in product and advertising as a Design Director & Strategist for Disney, Marvel, UMG, Heineken, Vice Media, Afro-Punk and the like. As an active member of the maker community since 2016 who is sponsored by The Home Depot and LIncoln Electric, I've spent the past year in the NFT space, hyper-focused on the intersection of the physical world and the metaverse. When I'm not asking the hard questions and holding public discourse around Diversity Equity & Inclusion and my mission to onboard 10,000 non "white guys" into web3 in 2022, I'm rallying the community to be more autonomous and sovereign by building in public. Growing up queer in Venezuela, I learned the power of a self-organized community to overcome social norms, power dynamics and disenfranchisement. This experience has shaped my belief that a synthesis of art, philosophy and technology is key to building sustainable communities around emergent technologies. Such synergies help us design tools and affordances for a more accessible, inclusive and equitable world. Ultimately, a community can only be as just and fair as its technology. http://booksfromthefuture.info/ https://publicfoundry.ai/
